Handling Modifications Since 1995
When orders are issued regarding child custody and visitation, child support and spousal support, either as part of a divorce or a paternity case, those orders are not necessarily permanent. If a life change requires modification of orders, there are steps that can be taken to make those modifications.
At the Law Office of Marie I. Braun, we work with people to either make these changes or to oppose modifications, if necessary. We have been serving people in Placentia, Fullerton and throughout Southern California since 1995, so you can be certain we have the experience to help you.

Modification of Child Custody and Visitation
There are many reasons to request a modification of child custody or visitation. Some are simple. Perhaps your new work schedule provides you with more opportunity to spend time with your children and you'd like to take advantage of that. Others are complex. Perhaps you have learned that your former spouse has alcohol issues that you would like to keep your child away from.
Another type of modification is the move away, in which one parent wants to relocate to a different state with the child.
Modification of Support
Child support may need to be decreased because of a job loss or a significant drop in income. It could also be increased due to a major increase in income because of a new job or a promotion.
Spousal support could change for similar reasons. Spousal support could also be terminated because of a new marriage or other similar reasons.
No matter what the situation, you can trust that we will carefully examine the circumstances and advise you of your options. We always work with our clients to ensure that the course of action we take now will also benefit them in the future.
